Shattered

What feels like an ending may be the beginning disguised.”

I thought my story
was written in grayscale,
same chapters recycled,
same endings rehearsed.

Then suddenly,
just as I made friends with comfort,
the universe folded,
a seam tore open,
and I stumbled into the sentence
I never expected.

The plot twist that woke me up
wasn’t just a moment,
it was a mirror shattering;
all the illusions I clung to,
the comfortable cages,
the lull of almost-love
that kept me numb.

I learned the hardest truth:
sometimes we choose our prisons,
because freedom means
facing ourselves.

And still,
awakening arrived disguised as ruin,
as heartbreak with teeth,
as silence louder
than any goodbye.

Now,
each breath is revision,
each step a rewritten line.
The story I thought I knew
was only a draft.

The twist was never the end,
it was me,
waking up
with the page on fire,
learning that ruin
and rebirth
are written in the same ink.

I do not fear the flames.
I was born of them,
and I will burn my way
into the next chapter.

Longing was the spark, but awakening was the flame I carry forward.”
